We are getting
closer and closer to our vision & goal of attaining our very own Church
in the near future. We do not know how big or small it will be, where
it will be located, how much it will cost, or when this moment will be.
But, we do know that the good Lord will answer our prayers, and we’re
certain that it will be a reality before long! It will also be our legacy
to our children & the generations to come. Yes, it is getting close
but not “mission accomplished” yet. Now – before that
happens, we will continue to ask you all generous folks out there to make
a contribution to First Burmese Baptist
Church 'New Church Building Fund’.
The
pastor stood before the congregation and said, “I have bad news,
I have good news, and I have more bad news”. The congregation got
quiet. “The bad news is: the Church needs a new roof!” the
pastor said. The congregation groaned. “The good news is: we have
enough money for the new roof.” A sigh of relief was heard rippling
through the gathered group. “The bad news is: it’s still in
your pockets”. So
you see, we need the help and generosity of everyone – both young
& old. We have not because we asked not! So I’m asking and am
confident that God will touch your heart to give your best to this worthy
& beneficial cause!
Did you know
that only 5% of the Christians gave 10% or more to the Church? And even
though 17% of Christians say that they “tithe”, only 3% actually
gave 10% or more of their income to God’s work. But listen to what
God had to say in Psalm 50:12, “If I were hungry I would not tell
you, the world is mine, and all that is in it”. So
God doesn’t need our money but we need to give to show our gratitude
for the many blessings that He had bestowed upon us. We will always reap
what we sow! May God bless you & may the seed that you sow now will
bring you a bountiful harvest - both materially & spiritually –
in the very near future.
